Director - Keith A. Berriman I.Eng., FIHE, FCIHT

As an experienced, specialist consultant, I advise on the highway, traffic, transport, and sustainability issues related to all development proposals.

I am an Incorporated Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Highway Engineers, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation.

I have now worked in this specialist field of highways development management since 1975. This time has been spent in both the public and the private sector. I formed my own company in 1988, and I have been an independent consulting engineer since that time. Formerly, I was the Head of Development Control (Highways) at Essex County Council.

Since 1988 I have provided advice to many different parties, including developers, Local Authorities, planning consultants, architects and land owners (see client list).

During that time, I have advised on hundreds of development projects, involving numerous national and local clients. In the majority of the cases in which my reports have been submitted for consideration, I have been successful in achieving agreement with the Highway Authority.

I have advised on all types of development proposals including, residential, commercial, leisure, education, retail, and roadside services developments: having advised on small and large examples of such projects. Over the years, I have given highway and traffic evidence at many public inquiries, including Section 78 inquiries. Local Plan Inquiries, and Roads Inquiries.

As a consequence of working specifically in this specialised area of highway, traffic and transport engineering, for many years, and, “on both sides of the fence”, I believe that I have accumulated a depth of knowledge which few others in this field can equal. Additionally, I am able to maintain a high level of personal service to all my clients, with all that means in terms of responsibility and obligation to the client.
